Silk fiber for spinning

The "handkerchiefs" are made by soaking the cocoons to remove the sericin, separating them and stretching them out in several layers on a frame measuring around 25 x 25 cm. This produces a fleece the size of a handkerchief. 

To spin, simply stretch and open the fibers with your hands. Once opened, the fibers can be carded with small cards or spun even without preparation, creating a more irregular yarn.

In felting, it can be used in both soap and water felting and needle felting.

As a 100% natural fiber, it is suitable for dyeing using natural dyeing methods.
