Turmeric powder

Turmeric root in fine powder for dyeing.
The dye present in the roots is curcumin, which dyes the fibers directly without the need to use a mordant. Turmeric is notorious for having poor color fastness and is, therefore, a dye that requires maintenance, i.e, tinting, to maintain color over time. It's an interesting dye to use experimentally, assuming it's a maintenance color.
Because it is possible to dye turmeric cold and without mordant on cellulosic fibers and silk, it is also interesting to use in activities with children or others that require simpler methods with fewer resources.

Recommendations:
To dye 50g of yellow fibers, we recommend using 1 tablespoon of turmeric.
