This cochineal is of high quality and of certified origin from the Canary Islands. Cochineal is used to obtain colors in the range of reds, fuchsia and purple and has excellent resistance to light and washing. It is available in bags of 20gr, 50gr or 100gr. 100gr of cochineal can dye approximately 3kg of yarn in a medium tone. Cochineal is a dye of animal origin, since it refers to an insect that invades the nopal cactus and is used dehydrated not only in natural dyeing, but for many other purposes.
